How To: 3 Day Diy Juice Cleanse With Shopping List

Add 1 medium banana, 1 cup raspberries, 1 tablespoon almond butter, 1 tablespoon flax seeds, ¼ cup spinach, 2 teaspoon lemon juice, and 1 cup water to a blender. Blend until smooth. Drink straight without straining!

Add 1 medium cucumber, 4 celery stalks, ½ cup almond milk, 1 tablespoon coconut oil, ½ green apple, ½ lime, 1 cup kale leaves, and 1 cup pineapple to the cup of a blender. Blend until smooth and do not strain before drinking it.

Place 1 cup blueberries, ¼ avocado, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 1 tablespoon flax seeds, ½ cup mango, 1 cup kale leaves, ¼ teaspoon ground cayenne pepper, and 1.5 cups coconut water in the cup of a blender. Blend until smooth. Do NOT strain it!

NOTE: You're supposed to choose any one of the 3 detox cleanse juices above to make and drink for a snack. Each drink recipe yields at least a 16-ounce juice or more. Do not forget to start the morning with green tea and drink water during the day while on this juice cleansing.

Was it hard? Not really. Sure, there were a few snacks I had to forgo but I didn’t have the negative experience many other juice cleansers have had– I went in to the cleanse with a positive attitude and emerged with a sense of accomplishment and knowing that I did something good for my body. The only negative is that afterwards my chin broke out, however I read that juices cause that as they push out toxins… or maybe it’s just from the sugary fruits. Personally, I wasn’t looking to use the cleanse as a diet so I cannot speak to any weight loss.

Juice detox and cleanses can be very pricey so I chose to stick with the more frugal budget-friendly DIY version from my last cleanse, although I switched out one of the green juices for a carrot-apple-beet juice– the last cleanse was just a little too green for me. Overall, I spent about $70 in produce and it took me about an hour and a half each night to make all the juices for the next day. I recommend using a juicer for all juices except the spicy lemonade and dessert smoothie. When you use a juicer, such as this juicer, it extracts all the fiber from the fruits and veggies, however when you use a blender the fiber is not removed. I’ve read that some people prefer having the fiber so to each their own; I am not a nutritionist, this post is solely based on my juicing experience.

I recommend making the juices up to one day in advance for ultimate freshness; after juicing, keep in airtight bottles or containers in refrigerator. Optional: Pour over ice for an ‘on the rocks’ version.
