Easy Healthy Pizza (20 Minutes!)

If you don’t want to mess with yeast, I do have this other amazing gluten-free vegan pizza recipe, but if you have a little extra patience, I think this one is even better. Working with yeast is pretty simple, and the results are truly outstanding. Let’s get into it!

Activate the yeast with warm water (should be pretty hot, but just cool enough to hold a finger in without it burning) and sugar, which feeds the yeast. Let this bubble and activate.

Sweet Potato Pizza Crust

Combine the flours. I use a combination of starches (like potato, tapioca, and/or arrowroot) and whole grain flours (like brown rice flour, sorghum flour, millet flour, quinoa flour, etc.) for the best crispy, chewy texture. All of my flours and starches come from Bob’s Red Mill! Mix the salt in here too.

Mix the yeast and psyllium into the dry ingredients and combine until a dough forms. You should have a soft, pliable dough.

Let rise for 30 minutes and then divide into two if you want two thinner crusts. Leave as one ball if you want a thick crust. Press into your crust shapes on parchment paper.

Almond Flour Pizza Crust (keto Pizza)

Parbake for 10 minutes until the bottom is golden and the crust is firm. Bake for 15 minutes if doing the thicker crust.

Add toppings to your pizza and then finish baking for another 10 to 15 minutes or until your toppings are golden and done to your liking!

You’ll want to prepare the crust all the way through the first par-bake. Once you have your crust (if you went thick) or two crusts (if you want thin), you will let them cool and then wrap well in foil or another wrap, tuck into a freezer zip bag, label with the date and contents, and freeze for up to six months.

Vegan Cauliflower Pizza Crust

When you’re ready to use, simply take it out and let it thaw at room temperature for a bit. Add all of your toppings, and bake your pizza! Voila —

Whenever I crave carbs while keeping my calories in check, I have a few favorite recipes on hand. I enjoy making low calorie bagels and on the weekend, some low calorie bread. Come dinner time, I love to whip up a low calorie pizza.

What I love about this recipe is just how calorie friendly it is. Each generous slice yields just 55 calories per slice (depending on the toppings) or you can enjoy an ENTIRE pizza crust for under 400 calories! Compare that to Domino’s, where their lowest calorie pizza has over 1000 calories.

Start by mixing together the flour and yogurt until a smooth dough remains. Add the salt and Italian seasonings and, using your hands, shape the dough into a smooth ball.

Low Carb Keto Chicken Crust Pizza ( Gluten Free, Nut Free)

Next, lightly flour a kitchen surface. Place the ball of dough on top and cover with a sheet of parchment paper. Roll out the dough into a large, pizza shape. Transfer the pizza onto a lined baking sheet or pizza pan.

Now, mix the low calorie pizza sauce ingredients. Spread it over the crust, reserving half an inch around the edge. Add your pizza toppings then cook the pizza for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese has melted.

Skip the store bought frozen pizzas that pick in extra calories and fat, and simply make your own frozen low calorie pizzas.

Low Calorie Potato Pizza Crust

Prepare the dough as directed and roll them into a pizza shape. Once rolled out, cover with plastic wrap, ensuring there are no visible air pockets throughout.Place the prepared pizza crusts in your freezer and they will keep for up to two months.

When ready to use, simply remove the plastic wrap and place it in a preheated oven for 10 minutes. Remove the crust from the oven, add the sauce and toppings, and bake until the cheese has melted.
